Today I drove to Taos, New Mexico from Albuquerque.
I drove through the mountains and touched the clouds. The rocks and cliffs of God are amazing.
How utterly magnificent they were... how they must just pale in comparison to Him.
The Creator is always greater than the creation... just ask the enemy.
God bless!

Balance
Balancing ministry and family can be a tricky thing.
The call of the Pastor is to ministry. The call of the husband is to minister to his bride as the Christ does to the church.
When God calls us to do things, how do we prioritize? The answer lies in the fact that God will not call us to do something that would not bless our brides. Christ will NEVER do something that will not be a blessing to His bride the church.
Likewise we as servants of the King are never to do things that will be an anti-blessing to our brides.
Sometimes the call of God to do something can be so very strong that we have to simply, stop and pray and ask for God's timing and perfection in His work.
We love the call of God and want to respond.. but we must never respond to the call of God at the expense of our family.
God bless!

Elder Meeting
Had a great Elder meeting with Kolan. So much is still going on behind the scenes for BTF, it is amazing to see how things are moving along and progressing.
I continue to be excited about what God is doing.

The Brass
Although this is my ministerial blog, it is also a personal blog. I have been a bi-vocational pastor for 7 years now and besides being a pastor, I am a Chief in the United States Coast Guard.
I have been in the Coast Guard for 18 years and am currently the Recruiter In Charge of the State of New Mexico.
Part of the reason I have been so busy as of late is that the Commanding Officer and the Command Master Chief are coming to pay a visit this morning. Many preps have been made in anticipation of their arrival and I'm looking forward to their visit.
Pray that our meeting goes well.
BREAK BREAK
Thanks again to Lydia for lending me her book. That really blessed me Lydia!! Thanks again!
BREAK BREAK
We are still waiting on the State to finish up our non-profit paperwork. The waiting game is ok with me though, for I know that all things will happen in God's perfect timing.
God bless,
Pastor Eric

Hey Jude
Today during our study we looked at Jude 4-7 and talk about a difficult passage of Scripture! Wow!
We have to look at what the Scripture says though, not what we think it should say. We never align Scripture with our beliefs rather Scripture should always define our beliefs.
Who were the Nephilim in Genesis 6?
I'll leave that for you to discover, but I will give you a hint.. look at the writings of Jude and Peter as well as the writings of Moses.
God bless!

Brothers from other Mothers
Kolan, Brother Bob and Dean,
Thanks to the three of you as of late for the words of encouragement. Perseverance is of the highest priority.
My Coast Guard job has been keeping me super busy as of late, and I feel as though I've neglected family and ministry. I've really been praying about how to balance life and ministry. I know that God has called me to serve Him, and I also know that He will never call me to do something that conflicts with His Word.
In this we can always stand firm. God will NEVER call us to do something that conflicts with His revealed will in His Word!
I need to discharge the duties of my ministry, but not at the expense of blessing my wife, nor at the expense of those placed in authority over me.
So to my brothers from other mothers (but the same heavenly Father) I salute you for your words of encouragement!
BREAK BREAK
Last week, I didn't get to go to my meeting with Pastor Wayne and to be honest I was a bit frustrated, but I understand he is a busy man.
Last Sunday we went to our Sunday School and our study of Titus, but then we were slated to work with the four year olds. I enjoyed it very much, but missed the message preached by Pastor Wayne. I pray that this week we are able to meet. I really miss this time with my mentor.
BREAK BREAK
This week, on Thursday I have my Commanding Officer and Command Master Chief coming into town on Thursday. This is the first time our CO and CMC have visited this office in years! Although I look forward to it, much preperation is being made.
Thursday is also "Da Badger's" (my son Javen's) birthday. I love Da Badger with all my heart and am actually looking forward to Thursday night. Please pray that my meeting with the CO and CMC goes well that I can enjoy family time with my son on his birthday that evening.
BREAK BREAK
Yesterday afternoon we went to Burger King with the kids for lunch as Marie had a doctor's appointment. She had asked me to meet them for lunch.
When we were there, in line there were some unbathed, and what appeared to be homeless people. One in particular that was in line smelled something awful! I was disgusted initially and God quickly convicted my heart as He tends to do and literally I confessed my pride, repented and asked for His forgiveness.
I sat and prayed, thanking God for His forgiveness and also that He would bless this man who was in need.
God reminded me that none of us are worthy of Him and to Him we are not worthy to be in His presence, except for the work of the Christ!
I continued to pray for this man and felt peace in my heart, when around this time Marie came to the table (I was with the kids, she was ordering) and told me that God had put it on her heart to buy that man's meal! What a praise! Without speaking to my wife about what God was doing over my own pride, Marie had it put upon her heart to purchase His meal.
I don't put this in my blog to put Marie in a good light, or to say "look at us how great we are". NO! I put it here so that the GLORY OF GOD might be displayed even through a Pastor's pride and repentance.
God you are amazing!
God bless,
Pastor Eric

Arianna's Birthday and lack of blog posts
Folks forgive me for not posting more regularly!
It has been an extremely busy week for me and I appreciate the patience of those who are faithful to read my blog.
I still have much to post regarding Tuesday's topics, but for tonight I just wanted to say that it was my daughter's ninth birthday today. God has truly blessed me with her!
(I had written a long post and my two left thumbs somehow found a way to delete it!) How frustrating.
Basically it said that we enjoyed time with the Wright's today at lunch and that was awesome, also that our pens came in! A promotional item which simply reads, "Live life, Love God" and has our website address.
The pen also writes well! I'm excited about this too.. because it is a giveaway but sometimes people have pens that are horrible. These are actually functional.
Still waiting on the State for our non profit status. Still praying for direction!
God bless,
Pastor Eric
